The Midtown illumination is incredibly popular in the days leading up to Christmas (especially the 24th) with couples bringing a compulsory bottle of champers with them. If you want to avoid potential crowds, you should go early.
What happens?
Every year, something new is added or changed to the program.
This year, there will be a new art installation called “gold trees”, along with smoke and colorful lights. The regular foliage will be lit up as usual and sustainable Christmas trees (made from discarded branches) will make their debut.
Next door, take your chance on the ice with the Midtown Ice Rink.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
