Tokyo Disneyland is easy to reach and a guaranteed great day out if you’re a Disney fan. It’s actually just one of two parks that make up Tokyo Disney Resort; the other is Tokyo DisneySea, which is unique among Disney parks, and features different nautical-themed zones, like Mermaid Lagoon.
Tokyo Disney attractions
Tokyo Disneyland has most of the classic attractions, like Pirates of the Caribbean, Alice’s Tea Cups, Big Thunder Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion, as well as the long-running evening spectacle, Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DreamLights.
DisneySea, meanwhile has more thrilling attractions, like Tower of Terror and Indiana Jones® Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull, plus theater shows. Both parks have evening fireworks, costumed characters, restaurants, popcorn carts, and merch shops aplenty.
How to buy Tokyo Disney Resort tickets
A 1-Day Passport for either park costs ¥7,900 to ¥9,400 for adults. Children’s passes are a little bit cheaper: ¥4,700–¥5,600 for ages 4–11 and ¥6,600–¥7,800 for ages 12–17. Exact prices depend on the time of year and day of the week, with weekends and holidays being more expensive.
We recommend buying Tokyo Disney tickets online. You’ll get the same price, and more importantly, save time on the day. For more tips, check out our guide to saving money at Disney.
Getting to Tokyo Disneyland
Tokyo Disney Resort, despite its name, is not actually in Tokyo. It’s right over the border, in Chiba Prefecture, but very easy to get to from central Tokyo by train.
The station for the Disney parks is Maihama, and it’s a 15-minute ride from Tokyo Station. You can take either the JR Keiyō Line or the JR Musashino Line; the cost is ¥230 one-way. Departing from anywhere else will likely require at least one transfer, as the Keiyō/Musashino Line only stops at Tokyo Station (and a few other stations in Tokyo).
Maihama Station puts you right at the entrance to Tokyo Disney Resort. It’s pretty easy to walk to Tokyo Disneyland from the station. DisneySea is a bit far, so you might want to take the Disney Resort Line to Tokyo DisneySea Station.
Narita Airport to Tokyo Disney
Since both Narita and Tokyo Disney Resort are in Chiba, it might seem convenient to go right to Disneyland from the airport. However, it is a little more complicated than that, because they are in very different parts of Chiba. A convenient way to get between the two is a shared shuttle bus service, which is not a bad deal if you’re traveling in a group.
You can also book Disney ticket and transfer packages from your accommodation in Tokyo.
