Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition

Studio Ghibli has been entrancing both Japanese and foreign audiences for decades. But now, you get the chance to peek behind the curtain and see the magic as it’s made, at the Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition.

It will be closed on Mondays.

What to expect

This traveling exhibition was first held in Nagano in July 2022. Since then, it has traveled around the country, stopping at Yamaguchi, Kumamoto, and many other prefectures. The exhibition contains artwork and models from several Ghibli movies. You’ll be able to see the hand-drawn art that inspired scenes from the iconic Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle. Not only that, but you can interact with life-sized versions of your favorite set pieces — take a ride in the Cat Bus, or sit next to Kaonashi.

And if you think you connect best with your stomach, there’s even the option to stop in for some Showa-era-themed food and drinks inspired by “From Up on Poppy Hill”. Try Neapolitan pasta or Showa-style ramen.

Tickets

Tickets need to be booked in advance through either Lawson Ticket, Boo-Woo Tickets, or NTV Zero Tickets. Adult tickets are ¥1,900, while junior high and high school students pay ¥1,600. Elementary schoolers get in for ¥1,200, and preschoolers don’t need a ticket.

How to get there

The Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition will be held at Terrada Warehouse’s B, C, and E halls. There are two train stations nearby — the closest is Tennozu Isle Station on the Rinkai Line. It’s a short four-minute walk away. You can also get to Tennozu Isle Station on the Tokyo Monorail Haneda Airport Line.
