While you’re visiting Sensōji Temple and the distinctive Kaminarimon Gate, why not join in an outdoor dance party?
What happens?
As will other Bon dance (odori) festivals, there will be a large yagura (festival tower float) for visitors to dance around. What makes this festival different is that it takes place just in front of the iconic Kaminarimon Gate that leads up to Sensōji Temple.
There will also be an outdoor art gallery. Paintings of ladies in kimono will be lit up on both Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Schedule
The dancing will get underway from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. along Namiki Street — the road opposite Kaminarimon.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.- 227 m from Asakusa Station Ginza Line (G19)Asakusa Line (A18)Tobu Skytree Line (TS1)
