The first of its kind and hopefully not the last -- Tomioka Hachiman Shrine (also referred to as Fukagawa Shrine) is known for putting on a good festival. In order to celebrate the autumn full moon happening on Saturday, September 10, 2022, the shrine will be hosting its first-ever tsukimi (moon-viewing party). As is traditional for this type of Japanese festival, there will be special dumplings to eat and pampas grass to decorate. It will also be known as their Mid-Autumn Festival. The shrine grounds will be lit up and performers -- such as Japanese dancers and singers -- will appear live on a special stage. The performances will be from 16:00–18:00 on Friday and 15:00–18:00 on Saturday. The illumination will happen from 18:00–21:00. The closest stations are Monzennakacho on the Oedo and Tozai lines and Kiba Station on the Tozai Line.
