Matsudo is a large ‘bedroom community’ city of almost half a million people located in the north of Chiba Prefecture.
The JR Jōban Line, the JR Musashino Line, Shin-Keisei Line, the Hokusō Line, the Keisei Narita Airport Line, the Tōbu Noda Line
and the Nagareyama Line all run through and have stations in Matsudo.
A number of large scale retailers such as Ito Yokado and cheap furniture retailer Nitori are located near the east entrance of Matsudo Station.
